Karen's "The Green Drink And Ovarian Cancer"


Karen who is 48 and had had stage three ovarian cancer joined Dr Oz today. Karen told her story on how she believes by drinking a green drink, and believes going green, says her green diet saved her life.

Everyday she drinks 16 ounces of a green drink she makes everyday, she brought a bottle of it with her and Dr Oz tasted it and said it was actually really good. Dr Oz shared with us his Green Dream Drink on a previous show.

    How A Plate Should Look For Portion Control


    Dr. katz and Dr Oz got out the tape and portioned of a plate and how it should be for your meals.

    One half of the plate is for your fruits and vegetables, and the foods he used were;

    1 Cup of greens
    1 Cup of broccoli
    1 Tomato
    1 Orange
    1 Cup Of Strawberries

    One quarter of the plate should be Whole grains, using the example of quinoa and rolled cooked oats.

    The other quarter of the plate is for the proteins. The foods Dr Oz used as an example was three and half ounces of salmon, one egg, or one half cup of beans as a serving size.

    The good fats he used were olive oil, and flaxseed oil, and on a wee corner of the plate he used a serving of walnuts, which are 12 walnuts, and one ounce of dark chocolate
