Dr oz talks about 3 kinds of lice because there are 3 types of lice - Some are in your hair, some are on your body and some are found in the pubic area.

The only type of lice than can transmit disease is lice that is found on the body that feed on your blood.

In severe cases lice from the pubic area can infect a child's eyelashes, they get these from the parents beds and they get under the eyelashes because the eyelash hairs are similar to public hair.

Head lice spread by direct contact through sharing caps, clothing, sharing brushes and combs, headphones, blankets.

Dr Oz says you can be a nit picker, but he says take some olive oil and rub it into the hair to make it easier to get the nits out.
